Food is an important role in individual wellness and building culture and community at Cornish College of the Arts and this will not change. Our chefs will still be cooking from scratch, using local and seasonal ingredients that meet our sustainability standards. Guests will continue to find plant-forward, vegetarian, vegan, and made-without-gluten-containing-ingredients every day in Nellie’s Cafe. If you have a food allergy or dietary restrictions please reach out to me or our Executive Chef Kenny to ensure you can enjoy delicious food safely with us.
Safety measures Bon Appetit Management Company at Cornish College of the Arts are taking:
- All employees will wear masks, gloves, and will be behind plexi glass. Any employees serving guests without plexi glass will be wearing a face shield.
- All employees are going through extensive COVID-19 training designed by sanitation experts and updated regularly as new issues emerge. Topics include proper disinfection, the use of personal protective equipment, physical distancing protocols, and more, and are integrated with food safety and sanitation protocols. Employees will be wearing an “I’m Trained” button to let you know they’re up to date on all safety measures.
- Separate workspaces for food preparation will allow for required safe physical distancing between employees.
- We are amping up our cleaning and sanitation schedules with clearly detailed procedures that meet or exceed all local guidelines and national best practices. Including frequent disinfection of high touch surfaces and wiping down tables between guests.
- There will be pre-shift wellness screenings for employees daily and a decision tree step by step action plan for managers.
Changes that are being made:
- We are teaming up with GrubHub and introducing a delivery and pick up program, you can now order using a mobile phone app. Meal cards and credit cards will be accepted. Delivery will be to Cornish Commons and daily to Kerry Hall. This will be available 7-days a week for lunch and dinner.
- Guests will be required to wear a mask at all times unless eating or drinking. There will only be 10 guests allowed in the café at one time. Tickets will be available to pre-order from the deli, grill, and soup in the lobby. Social distancing measures will be priority with floor decals and wayfinding arrows pointing you in the correct direction.
- Café seating will be decreased. Plexi glass will be installed to separate guests and table markers will be used to identify when tables have been sanitized and are ready to be used.
- There will be no self-serve stations. The café will be set up for speed with many popular items prepackaged. Everything will be to go including condiments and silverware. Pizza and grill will not be available at the same time due to the proximity to each other. In order to keep guests and employees safe they will switch on and off on days they are offered.
- The salad bar is being transformed into Nellie’s Market where you can find house-made grab & go, fresh fruits and vegetables, and refrigerated snacks you can enjoy later. The self-serve beverage station will be transformed to The Snack Station where all your favorite candy, treats, and snacks will be available. There will be an increase in bottled beverage selections also. Feel free to request any of your favorites and we will make sure to add into the café selection.
We are excited to bring you the same great food in a safe and social distanced way. Please reach out to Shannon.Null@cafebonappetit.com with any concerns or questions you may have.
